The head in the sex toy box is only one of the strange things about this case.

1. A neighbor agreed to hide a box for Maria Merino because the cops were searching Merino's house. How gullible does one have to be?

2. Merino told the police that her last contact with her missing boyfriend was on WhatsApp but then said that she couldn't show them the phone because she'd just dropped it in the toilet.

3. The police told Merino that they were coming to search her house and told her the date that they were going to search it on.

There would be no head in the sex toy box if the police hadn't warned Maria Merino that they were coming to search -- they would have caught her, head in hands.

This is a gruesome story, to be sure, but it's almost as gruesome in its tale of three stupidities.
